Margency holiday home - Surrounding Area
Margency is situated in the hamlet of Boutron, one of several hamlets which make up the village of Brillevast. There are many attractive walks and country lanes, and the forest of Boutron is close by. The house is surrounded by lovely countryside, the river Saire meandering through the valley, dotted with stone farmhouses and traditional Normandy cows. The area is renowned for farming, fishing and horse-breeding. Two miles along a quiet country lane is the pretty village of Le Vast, where you can feed the ducks on the river Saire, and buy your bread and croissants from one of the best bakeries in the area.
There are many leaflets in Margency describing places of interest for all the family, most of which are only a short drive away.

This impressive lighthouse, only 20 minutes from Margency, was built entirely of local granite.
It is 245 feet high, making it the second tallest lighthouse in Europe.
And it enjoys some interesting statistics - 12 floors, 52 windows and 365 steps.
If you are up to it, you can climb the staircase inside the lighthouse all the way to the top, from where you can enjoy stunning views of the Saire valley, as well as the fishing boats operating out of Barfleur and Saint Vaast la Hougue.
